Walcott Trucker’s Jamboree is Back and Happening This Week
Walcott, IA – The 42nd annual Walcott Trucker’s Jamboree is happening this week at the “World’s Largest Truckstop.”
As always, Iowa 80 is the home of this classic summer trucking event and the fun will begin Thursday, July 8 and run through Saturday, July 10.
Last year the pandemic forced the show to become virtual, but that’s not the case in 2021.
Friend to Transportation Nation Network (TNN) and Iowa 80 Group’s Vice President of Marketing, Heather DeBaillie, says her experienced team is “excited” to welcome attendees back in-person this year.
“The Walcott Truckers Jamboree truly is an iconic summer event and we look forward to seeing everyone and celebrating America’s truckers,” DeBaillie recently told TNN.
What To Expect
This year’s Jamboree will include many events the whole family will enjoy such as the Super Truck Beauty Contest, Antique Truck Display, Iowa pork chop cookout, vendor exhibits, Trucker Olympics, fireworks displays (following concerts on Friday and Saturday night), and a 100th birthday party for Iowa 80 Trucking Museum’s 1921 International.
A tradition also not to be missed is the Jamboree concert series.
The great music will kick off on Thursday night at 5 p.m. with Dany Lynn Howe and Band followed by Casey Muessigman at 7 p.m.
On Friday night, North of 40 will take the Jamboree stage at 5 p.m. before ACM, CMA, and Billboard award-winning group Lonestar performs at 7 p.m.
The long-time country group has amassed RIAA-certified sales in excess of ten million albums since their national launch in 1995 and achieved ten #1 country hits including “No News,” “Come Crying To Me,” “I’m Already There,” “What About Now,” and their crossover smash “Amazed.”
The final concert will be on Saturday and 1 p.m. and will feature Mo’s Garage.
“Our large outdoor area is perfect for enjoying live music in the fresh air,” DeBaillie said.
The concerts are FREE as are Jamboree admission and parking.
